They jumped ahead of other interested clubs (FC Barcelona and RCD Espanyol) by paying $ 500.000 for the player on loan with an option to buy. The deal would finally be executed a year later for a similar amount. This had been agreed on by contract and turned out to be an insignificant quantity considering the contribution he would later make in the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuan Stadium. |
